Great service. We came New Year’s Eve and had an enjoyable time. Food came in time all at once for 12 people. My son dropped his chop stick and less then a minute later she came to replace it. The pork chop taste better than other Vietnamese restaurants I’ve been.
We saw great ratings for this place so expectations were high. It was also a busy restaurant with really cute decor and nice dish presentation. However, the food lacked flavor, especially the district pho we ordered. The grilled pork chop was probably the best dish, with a nice char on the meat. The thai tea was also good. The wings and taro chips were good but quite heavy and I couldn’t finish it.
I enjoy the brisket’s scent and taste of the Wood & Herb goodness when eating the Wood & Herb Smoked Brisket Pho.
The Bun Bo Hue (spicy, lemongrass, beef broth) is also really flavorful. The noodles are softer and curlier than pho but I enjoy the texture more than I thought I would.
The broths are flavorful by itself before adding the various condiments provided. I prefer to nuke the soup after delivery because I'm snobbish about the soup temperature - I like it at a certain hot temperature for maximum enjoyment.
The Non-Glazed Taro Fries are also just fine and a nice change from regular potato fries. They also function as a snack for the little one.
The second photo include two bowls with only half the given portions. The portion sizes are decent for us so we will enjoy the other half later, though if we ate at the restaurant, we would probably feel a little more inclined to eat more of it in one sitting.
While I cannot speak to its authenticity, we enjoyed this more than any we have tried in Elmhurst. The cost may be steeper than other options but it’s worth it and we will eat from here again.
The restaurant looks nice and spacious. But their food is not as good as I expected. I'm Vietnamese, so I always want to support my people's business, but the quality needs to be at some standard. It's not only the food, the service is also slow even if it wasn't busy at that time. At first, we ordered Vermicelli Bun cha, shaken beef, dumplings for appetizer, and a small side of Pho soup. There were 2 guys who came after us, like 5 mins, and their dish were served before ours (I think they ordered Pho), and when they finished their Pho, our appetizer was served?! Please read the caption in the pictures for a more detailed review of food.
Hit up District Saigon for lunch and first things first, the decor is on point! It’s spacious, super clean, and the vibe is just right. Really digging the rustic look of the place. We went around 1 p.m., and it was pretty empty, so that was a nice bonus. Our food came out fast, and even though the menu’s a bit limited, it actually made choosing easier. Considering the quality, the price is reasonable too—dishes are around $17 each.
We tried the Bun Bo Hue and Pho. What stood out for me was the Pho; it had this Smokey smell and taste that’s totally different from traditional Pho, and I absolutely loved it. Both dishes were tasty and hit the spot. Overall, it’s a clear 5/5 for me. The atmosphere is perfect, the service is quick, and the food is delicious.
I crave the pho from District Saigon so often. Their broth is just so flavorful and rich. They are also always generous with their portions considering the price. It can sometime get a little loud if it’s crowded but otherwise, I love this place.
Highly recommend any of the pho soups and I also love their taro fries (with glaze), so crispy and delicious. I always get a thai tea too because…it’s thai tea!
The experience from start to finish was spectacular! I’ve always ordered Pho from this place for about 3 years before visiting on a hangover day or a little under weather. The food always did the trick. After stepping in today I will return much more often. The ambiance is organic and natural with a cool unpretentious vibe. Great Music, Mood and food. Time to become a regular.
A pretty decent Vietnamese place in Astoria. Friendly staff and a decent menu with a variety of choices. Plenty of space and a great atmosphere for lunch or dinner. I will definitely try this spot again when I'm in the neighborhood.
